Tool Box
Gone are the days of carbureted vehicles with vacuum controls, your parents sedan for example was network of basic automotive electronic circuits powering systems such as their radio or their heater. With advancements in computer controlled electronics ushering in a new area of automotive electronic integration and computer controlled systems.
When you look at a new car on the dealer's lot you are looking at a computer or even multiple computers working together, responsible with the tasks of monitoring and controlling your cars automotive electronics systems.
For instance your power door locks on the outside seems to be as simple as a light switch, but behind that switch may be a set of resistors sending signals through an integrated network of sensitive electronic circuit. This network may also be integrated with the vehicles power windows, automotive air bags and even the anti theft car alarm.
Even your radio on the outside still plays the songs on your favorite compact disc. But behind that could be the main hub of the vehicles' interior automotive electronic systems. Such as Power Locks, Power Windows, Air Bags, Navigation, Trip Computer and Heads Up display.
Automotive electronics have advanced so far that almost every circuit is integrated into an electronic network of signals and switches. This has helped automotive design to combine electronic systems and improve the driver's experience.
